Columbus Ohio-based Grange Insurance, said it has named Joseph DiMartino president of personal lines.

Mr. DiMartino will be responsible for the overall growth and profitability of the company’s personal lines business, Grange said.

In addition, Barry Hunlock will assume the role of vice president of personal lines operations.

A company spokesman said Mr. DiMartino was promoted to a new position within the company.

Before joining Grange in 2004 as vice president of product pricing and research, Mr. DiMartino held various risk management and analytics roles with Bank One and Associates First Capital.

He also served as an adjunct faculty member in the economics departments at Ohio Dominican University and Northeastern University.

Just prior to his new role, Mr. DiMartino served as a regional president of personal lines at Grange, where he managed underwriting, operations, loss control, pricing and countrywide research.

Alan Brannan, president of property and casualty for Grange, said Mr. DiMartino’s professional background plus an educational background that includes a doctorate in Economics, makes him “the perfect person to lead—and grow—this vital $800 million book of business for Grange.”

Mr. Hunlock, will lead day-to-day operations of the unit and will oversee personal lines underwriting operations and all personal lines projects, allowing the company to respond quickly to changing market conditions, Grange said.
