Assurex Announces New Board

Assurex Global, the global independent insurance brokers network, announced that its new board chairman is Tom Cornish of Seitlin Insurance in Miami.

Other officers selected for the board at Assurex’s fall meeting in Buenos Aires were: Bill Jeatran of RJF Agencies in Minneapolis, the past chair, vice president; Stefan Nill of Leue & Nill GmbH in Dortmund, Germany, secretary; and Tomas Lorant of Lorant Martinez, Salas y Cia in Mexico City, is treasurer.

New board members elected for the 2009-2012 term are: David Rodriguez from GPA Pulsar S.r.l. in Milanand and Dominique Sizes from Verspieren Group in Paris.

Three board members were re-elected for an additional term: Greg Collins from Parker, Smith & Feek Inc. in Seattle; Paul Hering from Barney & Barney, LLC in San Diego; and Kurt Watson from The IMA Financial Group in Wichita, Kan.

Jim Hackbarth president and chief executive officer of Columbus, Ohio-based Assurex Global, said, “The international makeup of our board and our regional structure keeps us focused on the unique needs and challenges of clients worldwide.”

Mr. Cornish added, “It’s exciting to see the collective ideas and enthusiasm created when we work together. The resulting global programs are impactful because of our size, yet flexible enough to meet the needs of each market or client. We’re fortunate in that Assurex Global possesses both size and finesse. I’m looking forward to a productive run as chairman.”
