NU Seeks Entries For WC Risk Management Award

NU_AWARD.jpg
National Underwriter is seeking entries for its second annual “Award For Excellence In Workers’ Compensation Risk Management.” Read on for details on how risk managers can enter, as well as how insurers, brokers and other interested parties can nominate a worthy candidate.

Last year, NU spotlighted three organizations for their outstanding approach to workers’ comp risk mitigation—2007 Champion Belk Department Stores, along with Honorable Mentions for Rolls-Royce North America and Kitty Hawk Air Cargo.

The NU award program is run in cooperation with the Workers’ Compensation Educational Conference (at which NU presents a series of National Trends panels) and the Florida Workers’ Compensation Institute (which manages the annual WCEC event).

Once again, a representative from the risk management departments of three company finalists will win a trip to Orlando to attend the WCEC from Aug. 17-20, where the 2008 Champion will receive a trophy, while the other two finalists are given a plaque for an Honorable Mention.

The risk management programs of all three finalists will be individually profiled in the Aug. 18 edition of NU. The finalists will also share the secrets of their success at a special “NU Roundtable” during the WCEC on Aug. 19, with highlights printed in our Oct. 6 edition.

Risk managers are invited to submit their own programs for consideration by May 9. In addition, agents and brokers as well as insurance carriers are welcome to nominate worthy candidates for the award, with outside nominations due by April 7.

Good luck!
